Jackie is a certified specialist in estate planning, trust and probate law, accredited by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization, who concentrates her law practice in the areas of estate planning, trust administration, estate, gift and income tax minimization, asset protection, special needs trusts, pet trusts, and probate. To better assist clients with more complex matters, Jackie holds a Masters in Taxation Law. Her counseling style and planning process guides clients through setting personal and financial goals, identifying obstacles and implementing wise solutions. She is passionate about helping clients solve their most burdensome worries, and she enjoys collaborating with other advisors to achieve best outcomes.
Jackie has counseled many individuals in the creation of customized estate plans and wealth transfer planning designed to maximize control, streamline transitions, protect assets from predators and creditors and minimize estate, gift and income taxes.
Jackie has also worked with many individual trustees in carrying out all aspects of trust administration, including complying with California law and governing documents, preparing estate tax returns, making portability elections, handling estate tax audits, making trust allocations and distributions, and winding up trusts. Further, she has represented corporate trustees in a variety of fiduciary matters and has advised them as to their fiduciary duties in administering, modifying and terminating trusts. In furtherance of litigation avoidance strategies, Jackie has counseled beneficiaries of trusts and estates in contentious matters and has helped clients avoid costly litigation by reaching satisfactory resolutions with their opponents.
When not helping clients, Jackie spends time with her husband and family at their horse ranch in Temecula, where they have three horses and three dogs. She enjoys riding and competing in dressage, gardening, reading, and volunteering for charities that benefit people with special needs. While born in the U.S., she grew up in Argentina and is fluent in Spanish.
Jackie graduated second in her class from Southwestern University School of Law (SCALE), where she was a member of the Law Review and received several academic awards, including an award in taxation law. She also graduated with honors from Loyola Law School’s Masters in Taxation (LL.M.) program, and from the Laureate program for wealth advisors, to which she frequently returns as a lifelong student. Jackie is certified by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization in estate planning, trust and probate law.
Jackie is licensed to practice in California and before the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. She is a past Chair and current member of the editorial board of the Los Angeles Lawyer Magazine, a monthly publication of the Los Angeles County Bar; she is also a member of the Executive Committee of the Los Angeles County Bar’s Trusts and Estates Section, the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the Riverside County Bar.
Jackie has lectured on topics related to estate planning and taxation to various audiences, including attorneys attending educational lectures put on by the Los Angeles County Bar, the Pasadena Bar Association, the State Bar of California, the USC Gould School of Law Trust and Estate Conference and the California Society of CPAs. She has authored many articles published in legal and consumer publications. She is a past member of a Pasadena trusts and estates boutique firm where she focused on high net worth and generational family planning.
